Your identity is not a feature
we ask you to give up.
Kafendroid builds two apps — vAlert and TagAlert — that let a stranger reach you the moment something you own needs attention. The whole point is that they can help you without ever learning who you are. This page explains, in plain English, what data we hold, why we hold it, and how you can remove it.
The scanner never sees you.
Whoever scans your QR code learns nothing about you — not your name, not your number, not your address, not your plate. They send an alert; the system delivers it to you.
We don't sell your data.
We do not sell, trade, or share personal information with third parties. The only sharing that happens is with the infrastructure we use to run the service (auth, storage, notifications), and only what is required for that.
You can delete everything.
Delete your account and vehicles or tags directly from inside the app. Data is removed from our systems, except where retention is legally required for security, fraud prevention, or a live legal request.
1. Who this policy is from
Both vAlert and TagAlert are built and operated by Kafendroid Technologies Private Limited, registered in Chennai, India. In this policy, "Kafendroid," "we," "us," and "our" refer to that company. "You" is the person using the app.
2. What information the apps handle
2a. Information you give us
- Phone number. Used to sign you in via one-time password (OTP). This is how we know an alert belongs to you.
- Vehicle or item details (vAlert: last four digits of engine number, plate; TagAlert: item name, description).
- Optional profile data such as a display name if you choose to add one.
2b. Information the app accesses on your device
- Camera — only when you scan a QR code. Images are not stored or transmitted anywhere.
- Location — only when a scanner attaches an approximate location to an alert, so you know where your car or item was seen. Location for the scanner is not tied to a name.
- Push-notification token — how alerts reach your phone in real time.
2c. Information the scanner sees about you
Nothing. The person scanning your QR code opens a lightweight web page or the app, picks a reason, and taps send. They do not see your name, phone, address, or plate. Kafendroid's backend is the middleman — they talk to us, we talk to you.
3. Why we hold this data
- To deliver alerts to the correct owner in real time.
- To let you manage your vehicles, tags, and alert history from inside the app.
- To run the credit system so free credits and paid credits are tracked accurately.
- To keep the service secure — spam prevention, abuse detection, and fraud checks.
4. How we store it
User data is stored in industry-standard backend services (authentication providers, encrypted databases, and cloud object storage) operated under their own security programs. Traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit. Credentials are hashed. Backups are encrypted at rest.
5. Third parties
We use a small set of third-party services to make the apps work. They only receive the minimum data needed for their function, and they operate under their own privacy policies. These include:
- An authentication provider for phone-number OTP sign-in.
- A cloud database and storage provider for account and vehicle records.
- A push-notification provider (Firebase / APNs) for delivering alerts.
- A payments provider, only if you buy additional credits.
We do not use analytics services that build advertising profiles from your activity.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We may share limited data:
- With the infrastructure providers listed in section 5, only as needed to operate the service.
- When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kafendroid, our users, or the public.
7. Data retention
Account, vehicle, tag, and alert data is kept as long as your account is active. When you delete a specific item or your entire account from within the app, that data is removed from our production systems. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period, and we may retain minimal records where retention is legally required (for example, tax or fraud-prevention obligations).
8. Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from within either app:
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to About or Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
You can also email kafendroid@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, and we will process the deletion within a reasonable time.
9. Children
Neither app is directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these rights, email kafendroid@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on the request.
11. International use
The apps are designed for global use. Data may be processed in India and in the regions of the third-party providers listed in section 5. By using the apps, you agree to that transfer.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the apps after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Privacy that doesn't depend
on a policy page.
Everything above is written down. But the real guarantee is architectural — the app is built so the person scanning your QR code never sees you. It's not a setting we let you toggle.
